FARNET Support Unit

(May 2009)  AEIDL and Grupo Alba (associated as the "DevNet" EEIG) have been assigned by the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission to be the "Support Unit" of the Fisheries Areas Network ("FARNET") from 2009 to 2014.

This FARNET Support Unit will bring animation, thematic and technical expertise as well as administrative support to the Commission, groups and other relevant actors / bodies concerned by the implementation of the fisheries operational programmes and in particular of their priority axis 4.

Policy and practice of territorial restructuring in four non-European Union countries: USA, China, South Korea and Brazil

(March 2009) AEIDL has been assigned by the French Delegation on Competitiveness and Land Planning (DIACT - ex DATAR) a 9 month study to examine the state of the art on the international scene. Policies and practices of sustainable development, metropolitan growth and territorial competitiveness are being scrutinized in USA, Brazil, South Korea and China. Results of the study will take the form of 4 national monographies - French only - accompanied by an English summary, to be delivered during Autumn 2009.

RUR@CT

(April 2008) The Limousin region (France) has launched a European network (RUR@CT) to promote the sharing of knowledge in rural development between regions. In the context of the EU budget reform, and particularly in relation to its impact on cohesion policy after 2013, RUR@CT aims to give European regions access to the experiences and lessons of an innovative rural development model. Within this network, AEIDL is responsible for identifying and promoting examples of good practice in four key issues: development and competitiveness; social cohesion and human capital; environment management; and territorial governance.

InfoREGIO: Information and communication on EU Cohesion Policy

(June 2007) The European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional Policy has selected the partnership ASCii-AEIDL for a framework service contract on communication, publications and information activities in area of EU Cohesion policy. Within the partnership, AEIDL is responsible for several key publications, such as the monthly newsletter, the quaterly Inforegio Panorama magazine and thematic brochures.

Editorial Secretariat of the URBACT Internet site

The Interministerial Delegation on Cities in France, the management authority of the URBACT programme, has chosen AEIDL to be editorial secretariat for the internet site of the URBACT programme.

European Cooperation on Major Tourist Sites

AEIDL is responsible for the external evaluation of an INTERREG IIIC project on cultural tourism. The COESIMA project (Coopération Européenne de Sites Majeurs d’Accueil) includes 7 partners from various countries (France with the Lourdes Développement agency as project leader, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Greece and Poland). COESIMA aims to establish joint promotion on the various sites, and to present a tourism offer adapted to visitors’ requirements, particularly for disabled people.
Evaluation will take place throughout the project until 2007, in three stages: establishment of a monitoring mechanism; assistance, monitoring of achievements and transfers; overall assessment report and recommendations.

The Regional Policy Directorate General’s communication framework contract

(2002) The Regional Policy Directorate General of the European Commission has assigned AEIDL a framework contract to create and diffuse its publications. Starting in 2002 for a duration of up to five years, the contract awarded to AEIDL involves the drafting, production coordination and targeted diffusion of some ten well-known editorial products including the monthly Inforegio News newsletter, the Inforegio Panorama magazine, the series of "Structural policies success stories in the Member States" brochures (presentation of European regional policy per country or subject), and various handbooks, reports and brochures.

Development of the URBACT programme communication strategy

The Interministerial Delegation on Cities in France, the managing authority of the URBACT programme, entrusted AEIDL with the definition of its communication strategy. This programme aims to establish instruments which make it possible to capitalise on and disseminate the lessons learned during the URBAN 1 and 2 programmes, along with Urban Pilot Projects. AEIDL’s task is to support the managing authority in defining a communication strategy which can support these objectives.

Best practices in the field of energy

In the context of the European SAVE programme, AEIDL took part in the Bacchus project. The project involved a transfer of best practices between energy agencies and regional development agencies.
The project was undertaken in partnership with the EURADA network and the Italian company ECUBA.

Territorial Employment Pacts

The territorial employment pacts were launched by the European Commission in 1996. AEIDL was responsible for preparing a methodology to analyse best practices, analysing best practices and creating the territorial employment pacts website which it managed between 1996 and 1999.

Pilot projects - Article 10 of FEDER

AEIDL was responsible for the selection and monitoring of pilot projects under article 10 of the European Regional Development Fund regarding the information society, as well as the production of network coordination and communication tools for the four themes of article 10: new sources of employment, culture, innovation and the information society.
